Unpredictable

No two live figure drawing sessions are alike. The mix of artists, the mood of the model and any number of other variables all combine to give every session its own unique character. What all sessions have in common, however, is that they provide an opportunity to connect ones art directly to our humanity. There simply no substitute for working from the live nude. 

Our next and final session for the season will be Monday, May 14th at 7:00pm.

Deep Tracks

The background music for Monday's session was a deep tracks rock and roll station. The conversation with the model touched on some deep topics. Drawing seemed to take everyone to a good place.

The energy in the room at 923 1/2 Caroline Street Monday night was palpable. The model brought it. The eleven attending artists brought it. The work showed it.

Latecomers

Several artists arrived late for Monday's figure drawing session. Busy schedules, threatening weather - who knows. Working in a group requires one to be flexible and deal with changing circumstances. Once settled in everyone enjoyed the excellent poses of a veteran model.

Our next session will be Monday, March 26th at 7:00pm. There will be a female model.

Kindred Spirits

Fredericksburg Figure Drawing first met eight years ago. Of the ten artists attending Monday's session, not a single one was from that founding group. New artists continue to find life drawing in Fredericksburg. Past or present, we are all kindred spirits sharing a passion for the live nude.

Speaking of new, those who attended were treated to wonderful poses from a terrific new model.

Worth the Wait

After missing two sessions due to holidays and weather issues, Fredericksburg Figure Drawing returned with a flourish. Artists attending Mondays session were introduced to a terrific new female model. Her poses, combined with those of a favorite male model, made for an extremely challenging and rewarding evening. 

Due to a scheduling conflict there will be no session February 12th. Our next meeting will be Monday, February 26th at 7:00pm. We will host a female model.
