At Monday nights figure drawing session one artist brought a digital screen to work on in place of a paper drawing pad. The mimicry of actual paper and pencil amazed the room. But, at least for now, most artists still seem to be committed to working with traditional materials.

Our next session will be Monday, January 8th 2018 at 7:00. We will have the opportunity to work form both a male and female model.

Post Holiday

A good group of artists attended Monday nights figure drawing session. All were treated to excellent poses by our model. Uncharacteristically, a number of participants left early citing a variety of reasons. Could it be fatigue in the wake of the long Thanksgiving weekend?

Our solo December session will be Monday the 11th at 7:00pm. We will host a female model.

Locked Out

Arriving for Monday night's figure drawing session the model and multiple artists found the door locked. It seems the host had inadvertently locked it and headed upstairs to deal with an emergency circuit breaker issue. With the door unlocked, apologies made and accepted, everyone got down to work. Maybe, just maybe, the drama enlivened the drawings of our excellent model.

Full Circle

Two new artists attended Monday nights session. Our muse for the evening was one of Fredericksburg Figure Drawing's first models. The combination made for a very enjoyable evening of drawing.

Eight hearty artists attended Monday nights figure drawing session. Fall is supposed to have arrived by October but an 85 degree temperature combined with tropical storm Nate's humidity made for a challenging evening. All who sweated it out were treated to some excellent poses from our model.

The next session will be Monday, October 23rd at 7:00. There will be a female model.

Hot Drawing

Move over hot yoga now there is hot figure drawing. A warm evening didn't wilt the spirits of a large group of artists at Fredericksburg Figure Drawing's first session of the season. Making all this possible were the terrific poses of our model Breanne.

New Season

Fredericksburg Figure Drawing will begin its eighth year on Monday, September 18th at 7:00. Conflicts prevent meeting the usual second and fourth Mondays of the month but we will return to that schedule in October. The location remains the same - 923 1/2 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg VA. There will be a female model.

Closing Night

A rainy April evening didn't prevent a large number of artists from attending the final session before summer break. Beautiful and inventive poses by Richmond based model Breanne made for some terrific drawings.

Fredericksburg Figure Drawing will start it's eighth year in the fall. Founded and then nurtured through the first five years by Susan Ishii the group has gone through multiple challenges and changes. Ultimately, it is the combined enthusiasm and efforts of dedicated artists and models that keep figure drawing flourishing in Fredericksburg.

There will be just one more meeting of Fredericksburg Figure Drawing before summer break. As we approach the final session both the drawing talents and intellectual exchanges of the participating artists continue to inspire.

Monday night an attentive group of artists was treated to more than just the exceptional modeling talents of Lise Bruneau. She also shared her music library via her iPhone. The debate was which is more revealing - baring your body or your musical tastes?
