December Drawing

Rust forms quickly on ones drawing skills so the December session was timely. We worked from a wonderful new model. Our new drawing year will begin January 11, 2016!

Hold It!

A good dedicated group of artists for our second session in November. The model came ready to deliver. He held this pose for thirty minutes and probably could have gone on longer. It was a welcome challenge for everyone.

Our lone session in December will be Monday the 14th at 7:00.

We will resume our twice a month meetings in January.

A Cold and Rainy Night

We had a small group of artists (5) turn out last Monday on a cold rainy night. The intimate group combined with an engaging model made for a wonderful drawing environment.

Our next session is Monday, November 23rd. There will be a male model.

October

Fall has finally arrived. Hopefully the fans have been put away until next summer. There were good turnouts for both the October sessions and as usual the models were terrific! Thanks to all.

The meeting dates for November will be Monday the 9th and 23rd - 7:00pm.

September Return

There was a large turnout of regulars for our first session back form break plus we welcomed a new artist. Lots of catching up with everyones summer travels and some great poses from a favorite model. 

Our October meetings will be Monday the 12th and the 26th.

We Are Back!

Our regular twice a month figure sessions resume Monday, September 28th. Time and location are the same: 7:00pm - 9:30pm at 923 1/2 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg, VA. Bring your pencils and paper and make some marks!

Summer 2015

Model draw is going on summer hiatus. There will be no regularly scheduled sessions until September.

And congratulations to another model draw artist being accepted to an art program!

The May 11th figure session has been rescheduled to Monday, May 18th at 7:00 pm. 

April

There were good turnouts for the April sessions. We celebrated several birthdays and one group member getting into an art program. It is wonderful to see so many dedicated artists interested in working from the live figure. Kudos to all who attended and special thanks to our models.

New Space/New Beginnings

New Time & New Location

Figure Drawing is now taking place at 923 1/2 Caroline Street, the second and fourth Monday of each month. The session will run from 7 - 9:30pm and the door will be locked at 7, so artists at work will not be disturbed by late arrivals.

Regrouping

A great session last Monday. Our thanks to Emily, for wonderful poses.

Monday, January 26th will be our last session at this location. Starting in March, we're going to be in a new Caroline St. space and draw twice a month, rather than weekly. The new location will free us up as to time and medium constraints also. I think it's a needed change, which is always energizing, and a break I'm looking forward to.

New Year - New Drawings

Well, I'm back from New York and we'll be drawing at Dragonfly Yoga from 7:30 - 10. I saw a lot of friends, family and art. I stayed just 2 blocks from Central Park, in a great neighborhood. I visited the Metropolitan, the Guggenheim's "Zero" exhibit and saw the "Matisse Cut Out" show at MOMA. It was all good, the perfect solution to Christmas on my own.
