Quiet Time - Shhhh

There were just a few of us last Monday and it was lonely! Where is everybody? Well ... for those who missed it - we drew Keith, a great model and all around "good guy".

Capturing Light

We finally had clear weather for drawing on Monday and got a chance to experience the incredible light in the main hall. So rich and luscious ... and so challenging to capture it all in 5 or 30 minute poses.

Our thanks to Janet, who is always an amazing model, and artist's dream and always so much fun!

Great Times

We had a great session and a BIG group of artists last Monday. It was so much fun! Sarah posed for us one last time before she heads out of town for a bit. Our many thanks to her for her great poses that are so inspiring. There was some great work created by all of the artists.

Thank you all for coming each week and supporting Life Drawing in Fredericksburg. We've been at it for THREE YEARS now and I think that calls for some cake!

We'll be drawing Janet on Monday, May 12th at the Unitarian Fellowship. See you then!

Never Stop Learning

I'm always searching for anything regarding life drawing and I've found a really great resource. A 6-part lesson from Georgetown Atelier in Seattle, Washington. The lesson is a great resource and covers rendering a figure from start to finish and includes color temperature, the block-in and a link for french paper and supplies. Click here

We had a great session on Monday, largely due to Sarah's magnificent poses and we are getting comfortable in the new space at the Unitarian Church. Everyone needs to try out the amazing light, especially with the longer days ahead!
