"To draw does not simply mean to reproduce contours; the drawing does not simply consist in the idea: the drawing is even the expression, the interior form, the plan, the model. Look what remains after that! The drawing is three fourths and a half of what constitutes painting. If I had to put a sign over my door [to the atelier], I would write: School of drawing, and I'm pretty certain that I would create painters." - Ingres
Thank you artists, for attending life drawing last night and thank you, Anna Page - another favorite muse.
On that note ... a word about how grateful we all feel to have such great models. All of you inspire us with your professionalism, grace and creativity. You challenge us to improve our skills with each and every pose and we all recognize and appreciate how difficult your work can be. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
There will be no drawing next Monday, March 12th.
We'll draw Anna Page again, on Monday, March 19th at Read All Over Books. I hope to see you all then!
